Oatmeal with Naranjilla

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 naranjillas or passion fruit as a substitute
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ¼ cup brown sugar or grated panela adjust to taste
  • 1 cup milk can be plant-based
  • Ice to taste

Instructions
 

  1. Place the oats, water and cinnamon in a pot. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, until the oats soften.
  2. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, and strain to obtain a smoother liquid.
  3. Blend the liquid with the naranjilla pulp and sugar.
  4. Add the milk and blend again until smooth.
  5. Serve cold, with ice if desired.

Notes

If you want a lighter drink, strain after blending. For a creamier version, leave all the oat pulp in.
