Vegan French Bread with Oat Crust

For the French bread

  • 1 cup Oat milk
  • 2 tbsp flaxseeds
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 4 slices of Bread
  • Oil as needed

Oatmeal crust

  • 1 1/2 tbsp Instant oatmeal
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

To serve

  • Fresh strawberries or fresh mixed berries
  • Maple syrup


  1. Mix all the ingredients for the French bread in a large bowl, except for the bread slices.

  2. Let the mixture stand for 10 minutes for it to thicken.

  3. While waiting for the mixture thicken, mix the oatmeal with the cinnamon in a shallow bowl and set aside.

  4. Heat a frying pan over medium heat, use a little oil to prevent your bread from sticking.

  5. Dip the bread in the mixture for approximately 20 to 30 seconds per side, depending on the thickness of your bread.

  6. Dredge the bread in the oatmeal-cinnamon mixture and coat thoroughly.

  7. Cook in the pan for 2 to 3 minutes per side until lightly browned.

  8. Serve along with strawberries or berries and maple syrup to taste.
